New genomic techniques - the future of the Polish grain sector
On October 8, 2025, during the Agro FARMA Expo, a conference will be held dedicated to the role of New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) in shaping modern and sustainable agriculture. The event will feature, among others, Prof. Arkadiusz Artyszak from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Dr. Sławomir Sowa from the Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute – National Research Institute, as well as representatives of farmers, including Michał Nowacki, known as the YouTuber Rolnik NIEprofesjonalny.NGTs open up new opportunities for the grain sector – they make it possible to develop crop varieties resistant to pests, diseases, adverse environmental conditions, and the effects of climate change. They also allow for reducing the use of fertilizers and plant protection products, while enabling the creation of varieties with higher nutritional value. The conference will be an opportunity to discuss the future of Polish agriculture and the prospects offered by innovative solutions in plant breeding.

Soybeans from Polish fields – how to use their potential in animal nutrition.
The presentation will highlight the most important results of analyses of the quality of domestic soy products, such as oilseed meal, extruded soybeans, and post-extraction meal. Research has shown that Polish soybeans can be a valuable source of protein in the nutrition of calves, dairy cows, pigs, and poultry, and that their nutritional value is comparable to that of imported feed. We will highlight the practical benefits of using soybeans from Polish fields and issues that require further refinement in processing. This will provide farmers with clear guidelines on how to make the best use of domestic soybeans in animal nutrition and what opportunities they offer for farms.

Future challenges in calf rearing.
The lecture will discuss the most important challenges in calf rearing that breeders will face in the coming years. In particular, it will address aspects of calf welfare, which are increasingly important to consumers. Their concerns are increasingly taken into account by policymakers who create the legal regulations that breeders are subject to.

Control and measurement systems in poultry houses and piggeries – remote control and data acquisition.
During the lecture, practical examples will be used to discuss the general principles of operation of selected microclimate measurement and control systems in livestock buildings and devices supporting poultry and pig farming, such as water and feed consumption control systems, automatic poultry scales, and lighting systems. A common feature of the presented devices is the possibility of remote management via the Internet and data acquisition, which allows for centralized management and optimization of production processes.
